Nutrition for children: introduction
We all want the very best for our children. That includes sound nutrition in the early years of life.
Most of us have little or no experience of feeding children before we have our own. Even if we could remember back to our own childhood days it wouldn't help, things have changed so much!
What can I do about my fussy eater? My child hardly eats a thing? My child only eats toast! How do I know if my child is getting enough? All these are common concerns for today's parents.
Healthy eating
Understanding what foods children need, how much and when and knowing that certain behaviour is quite harmless - even if you don't like it - will help you introduce your child to healthy eating as smoothly as possible.
Think "small and often" for growing children. It's the quality not the quantity of the diet that is important to strengthen muscle, lengthen bones and increase the weight and height of growing children.
We hope you will find the information on the Bia Kid Nutrition pages useful. It can give you a steer and help you navigate through the early years when good nutrition is vital. The nutrition section is divided into eight sections. Use the links on the left to move between them.
Come back to us with your questions - we'd be happy to answer them. Happy Parenting
